Add JooID to your arsenal!

I am posting this with JooID right now! Make sure to pick up this app because it is cool you can now update your joomla from your android device. How cool is that? I didn't even have to type any of this, I can just speak into my phone and it types the article for me. Typing is overrated anyhow. Find jooid at jooid.com for the go find it in your android market.

I found a way to manipulate my HTACCESS file to make Joomla run much better, especially if you are using Virtuemart.

The problem I ran into was my Virtuemart not working everytime and a surefire way of telling was that none of the items were being added to the cart upon clicking "add to cart". I soon realized that in the settings for the VM store and configuration, I have the url set as http://www.domain.com and the store won't work if the url is at http://domain.com. It has to have the exact same url inserted in configuration to work properly, with or without https.

So, how do I get the url to switch to having the "www" in the url automatically everytime?

The answer lay in the HTACCESS file. I am going to show you how I did my HTACCESS files.

For 1and1 running Joomla 1.5.xx:

AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php
